Like all Chinese languages, Cantonese is a spoken only language. Written Chinese is universal across China to either Chinese (Simplified) or Chinese (Traditional).

In other words Disc 2 should say Chinese subtitles and not Cantonese subtitles, no such thing .

Every listing for 2001 Space Odyssey says:

Mandarin subtitles, again no such thing .

It should read:

Chinese subtitles
