Full details of the changes can be found at Original Trilogy Forum. Just scroll to the 01/10/10 update in the first post.
A modern version of DNR has been applied which somehow now displays fine grain instead of the rough grain we're used to but still somehow retains almost all detail and doesn't look waxy in motion. It is also quite a bit sharper than the untampered version, but again with some new technology without any edge halos or other artifacts.

What is the region code, picture format and codec used? Also, Amazon link, please?

Also Oliver as stated before, please write "Master Audio" rather than just "Master". It' makes entering specs much easier!

Hi.
You must have overread this. It was already there:
Aspect Ratios: 1.33:1 & 1.85:1 on the same disc
Picture Format: 1080p 24fps AVC MPEG-4

I missed out on Region coding which is Region B.
Amazon ASIN: B01N7SWKI6

I will write DTS HD Master Audio from now on.

Cheers

P.S. This film has numerous editions in Germany now. The un-banning was a big deal there, since it even got the 16-rating rather than an 18-rating fully uncut.
2 of those are also on Amazon.de: ASIN: B01N9SFBBS & ASIN: B01MY8YYHR
others are here:

Wow Oliver, you're not kidding about its release being a big deal in Germany - just lookit how many versions have been released all on the same day:

Sony are certainly making up for lost time!

The DNR on the remastered version isn't the most intrusive I've seen, but there is a definite loss of fine detail and the grain seems to have all but disappeared.

A note should be added to the listing that this is a remastered, DNRed transfer and there are also various 'untouched' German BDs available. Comparisons between the German original and remastered BDs:

If it's anything, Germany also has a Vintage Edition which contains The Evil Dead without the DNR on both Blu-ray and DVD:

I assumed the BD detailed above, its identical steelbook edition and the corresponding DVD were the only DNRed releases, as none of the others have the "Remastered" sticker.
