Ong-Bak, German blu-ray specs ADDED

Postby Van_Beek » 06 Dec 2018 03:10

Title: "Ong Bak: Muay Thai Warrior"
Country: Germany
Region: B
Releasing Studio: Splendid Film (under the "Amasia" brand)
Case Type: Keep case
Aspect Ratio: 1:78:1
Codec: AVC MPEG-4
Picture: 1080p/24p
Soundtracks:
1. German DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (dub)
2: Thai DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
Subtitles: Optional
1. German for ALL Dialog
2. German for German dub (see notes)
Cuts: None (however, see notes)
Runtime: 1:48:38
Commentaries: None
Extras:
1. B-Roll, SD, 5:55
2. "Je Reste Ghetto" music video, SD, 4:02
Notes:
1. This is genuine HD. However, the colors are slightly washed out. As noted by Movie-Censorship, the International version of the film has different color filters

2. This is the uncut version! However, this version still uses the "alternative takes" of Luc Besson's edit at these spots
a. When Ting & George/Hum Lae talk to George's landlord
b. During the Tuk-Tuk (taxi) chase scene
Details on these alternative takes can be seen here
Original Thai/English end credits are used.

3. The German dub uses Luc Besson's score & sound effects. However, no German dub was made for those scenes that were cut out of Luc Besson's version (for details on which scenes were cut, see Movie-Censorship). Therefore, subtitle option 2 contains German subtitles for those parts only. Those parts have the original Thai soundtrack playing even during the German dub.

4. The burnt-in texts from the French theatrical version that say "Village de Nong Pradu" (beginning of the movie) and "Frontière Birmanie" ([Burma Border] middle of the movie) are completely gone on this blu-ray! Therefore, I'm personally confident that Splendid sourced this from an original negative.

5. The OAR is 1:85:1. Therefore this blu-ray is just tiny bit cropped. But the difference between 1:85:1 & 1:78:1 is pretty negligible.
Easter Eggs: none
