Snow Queen (2002) - Artisan & Mill Creek DVDs ADDED

These releases are sold separately, obviously. I am listing them both together in this one post because it makes things less confusing :-)

Not to be confused with many other movies with the same title (based on a Hans Christian Anderson story), this "Snow Queen" is a 2002 Hallmark Channel TV movie starring Bridget Fonda as the titular character. It originally aired as two parts. Artisan/Hallmark DVD edits the two parts together into one three-hour movie (dubbed "Home Video Version" on the back of the case). Mill Creek presents it as two parts.

The 2003 Artisan/Hallmark release (UPC: 707729135258) presents the film in an uncropped 1.77:1 aspect ratio, but letterboxes it into 4:3 instead of presenting it as 16:9 anamorphic. I'm sure it originally aired as 4:3 Fullscreen back in 2002 since Hallmark probably wasn't airing HD at the time. They likely filmed it in 16:9 for future use, as the Artisan release shows more image on the sides over the 4:3 Fullscreen presentation on the Mill Creek release.

The Artisan/Hallmark release says 16:9 on the back of the sleeve, but isn't: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/WkAAAOSw ... -l1600.jpg
The case back itself says 4:3 Letterbox: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/R30AAOSw ... -l1600.jpg
As does the disc: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/ApsAAOSw ... -l1600.jpg

The 2014 Mill Creek release (UPC: 683904535382) presents it in the original two parts, complete with "To Be Continued" text and "As Previously Seen" recap segment. However, the 4:3 Fullscreen image is cropped from the 1.78:1 filmed image (credits text has been repositioned in both versions), and it loses out on the few bonus features from the Artisan release.

The front of the Mill Creek case doesn't say Hallmark at the top: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/RzMAAOSw ... -l1600.jpg
The back of the case is completely different.
Stupidly, Amazon is reusing the Artisan listing for the Mill Creek release, even though they are vastly different DVDs:

The Mill Creek disc has also been repackaged into two different Double Feature releases. The Amazon listings says each is two discs, so I assume this same disc is included in each.
* With Hans Christian Anderson: My Life As A Fairy Tale - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EYW32WW
* With Hogfather - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EQ2KVQQ

The movie has also been released internationally on DVD as The Winter Witch: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I05KHX6

I did some comparions between the two releases, and uploaded all of my images here:

For DVD:
Title: Snow Queen
Country: America
Region: 1
Releasing Studio: Artisan (Lionsgate)/Hallmark
Case Type: Keep Case
Aspect Ratio: 1.78:1
Anamorphic?: No. It's 4:3 Letterbox.
PAL or NTSC?: NTSC
Soundtracks: English 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround, English 2.0 Dolby Digital Stereo.
Subtitles: None.
Cuts: Yes/No. Runtime is 2:52:32. The two parts have been edited together into one three-hour movie (dubbed "Home Video Version" on the back of the case). The "To Be Continued" text at the spot where Part 1 originally ended is gone, as is the "As Previously Seen" recap segment from Part 2. There is just one end credits scroll at the end of the entire thing. No scene content is missing. The scene with Kai and the polar bear which originally had the Part 2 beginning credits over them is present without the text over it. The runtime includes the Artisan and FBI warnings at the end. Without this extra stuff, it's 2:51:53.
Commentaries: None
Extras: Behind The Scenes/Making Of (10:29), Photo Galley (10 screens, 13 images), Hallmark Channel Originals Trailer (1:00). The trailer has clips from Snow Queen in it, but is not specifically for the movie. (Back of the case says "Trailer Gallery", but it's just this one generic trailer.)
Notes: First pressing included a slipsleeve and chapter list insert. The back of the slipsleeve incorrectly stated "16:9 Widescreen". The back of the case and the hub of the disc both correctly say "4:3 Letterbox".
Easter Eggs: None
Amazon ASIN: B00007G1VR

For DVD:
Title: Snow Queen
Country: America
Region: 1
Releasing Studio: Mill Creek
Case Type: Keep Case
Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1
Anamorphic?: No
PAL or NTSC?: NTSC
Soundtracks: English 2.0 Dolby Digital Stereo.
Subtitles: None
Cuts: No. Part 1 is 1:28:27, Part 2 is 1:27:40. Includes end credits on Part 1 and an "As Previously Seen" recap segment at the start of Part 2, both of which increases the runtime over the Artisan version. Sonar logo at end in place of the Hallmark logo.
Commentaries: None
Extras: None
Notes: This release presents the movie in it's original two parts. Part 1 ends with "To Be Continued" and then shows the end credits (same as at the end of Part 2). Part 2 begins with an "As Previously Seen" segment (recapping the events of Part 1), then has it's own beginning credits layed over the first scene. These Part 2 credits are missing from the Artisan release, as the same scene is shown without any text over it. The filmed 1.78:1 (16:9 ratio) image has been cropped to 1.33:1, which is likely how it originally aired on TV since I don't think Hallmark was airing in HD back in 2002. Credits text has been repositioned.
Easter Eggs: None
Amazon ASIN: B00007G1VR (stupidly, Amazon is reusing the Artisan/Lionsgate listing for the Mill Creek release, too, even though they are vastly different DVDs).

Thank you. Added both! Could not find any concrete specs for the UK The Winter Witch DVD or any others.
