DVD

Title: 2:22

Releasing Studio: Fokus Media
Case Type: Mediabook
Aspect Ratio: 1.78:1

PAL or NTSC?: PAL
Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, German Dolby Digital 5.1
Subtitles (optional): English, German

Making Of Picture Gallery (18:56)
Notes: 12-page booklet included (non-removable) with writing by Mike Blankenburg. Three different covers available: Cover A (limited to 222 copies): B07CPF7MLC; Cover B (limited to 222 copies): B07CQKKF3N, Cover C (limited to 222 copies): B07CPLY2RR. Region code mistakenly labeled R2. The transfer seems to be faulty: the picture does not fit exactly on the right side of the screen, you oftentimes see a white vertical line. This is not the case in the Ascot Elite release. So if someone wonders which version to buy, I suggest to leave the Mediabook release be.

If the 2D Blu-ray releases are not 1080i50, why do they show 25 fps runtime (104 minutes instead of 108)?

I have to check that - wasn't aware of it. I took the specs from BDinfo.

Any update on the different runtime of the 3D version?

The timing for 2D and 3D are the same - my mistake. This is what BDinfo lists. First picture is from the Ascot Elite release, second one from the Fokus release:

According to Schnittberichte, the PAL version (25 fps) runs 100 minutes.

Here we have two releases in 1080p24, the upper running 104:11, the lower (3D) running 108:40. Perhaps the 3D is an extended cut?

According to the FSK, the Ascot Elite release was cleared for persons of 16 years of age and up: https://www.spio-fsk.de/asp/filestream. ... 891V%2Epdf. The movie cleared by the FSK has a lenght of 104:12.

According to the IMDB the movie has an original length of 1h 44 mins.

I will ask Fokus directly what's up with the discrepancy.

If you have suitable equipment, you perhaps can start playing the two discs simultaneously and see if there are additional scenes in the longer version or something else — e.g. 4 minutes of colour bars at the end...

According to Fokus Media, the transfer from Ascot/LB Films had some issues, hence the shorter runtime, they told me (I cannot verify this). The Fokus Media and Ascot/LB releases are the same, content-wise, they said further.

Here the original response in German from the man behind Fokus Media, Claudio Ulrich:

"Hallo Christian

Filme sind also Identisch..."

So that means the 2D version runs at 25fps, but they transferred it at 24fps in 1080p, so are there ghosting issues with the 2D version?

I could not see any problems during the playback of the movie - bot versions are equal. BUT: The picture quality in both releases is way off what I am used to see from a native 1080p scan. It looks rather like interlaced.

Added, but with the note "A master with an incorrect speed was apparently used for the transfer, resulting in a slightly longer runtime." for the Fokus Media release. Thanks!
