Both cuts of "Friday the 13th (1980)" and Parts 2-4 feature 4K scans of the original camera negatives.
Both cuts of "Jason Goes to Hell" and "Jason X" feature 2K scans of the interpostives (with HD inserts of the unrated footage for the "Unrated Cut of Jason Goes to Hell").
The 3-D version of "Friday the 13th Part 3" is automatically selected if you have a compliant TV and player (there is no option to select either version in the menus), the 2-D version is accessible if you turn the 3-D function off.
While the transfer "Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives" is the same one from 2009, it's been color-corrected for this release.
When originally released, the following errors were reported:
- The credits to "Friday the 13th Part 3", after the intro and title, recede back and then pop out to roughly the TV depth space rather than pop out beyond properly. There is a small jump cut before it starts.
- The uncut version of "Jason Goes to Hell" is missing one of the uncut inserts. As a result, the audio is also momentarily out of sync.
- A sound effect missing in "Jason X" during sleeping bag death.
- Some box sets contain double copies of a film rather than all 12 films (Example: 2 copies of "Friday the 13th" (1980) but not "Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning").
Scream Factory is aware of these problems and are currently looking into them.
The "Freddy Vs Jason" and "Friday the 13th (2009)" discs are repackagings of the original 2009 releases Because of this, they are also region free. All other discs are region A only.
"Friday the 13th" (1980), "Friday the 13th Part 2", "Friday the 13th Part 3", "Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter", "Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning", "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday", "Jason X", "Freddy Vs. Jason", and "Friday the 13th" (2009) have reversible covers.
Comes with a 56-page collectible essay booklet featuring archival still photos.
Limited to 7,000 copies and if (pre-)ordered on the Shout! Factory website, you'll receive an exclusive limited edition 36" x 24" rolled lithograph of the box set's artwork and an exclusive limited edition 24” x 36” Friday the 13th 40th Anniversary rolled poster. Originally, this was limited to 1,313 copies but due to meet the demands, it was raised to 7,000.
