Father Dowling Mysteries: The First Season UPDATED

Postby Richard_Ovenall » 09 Apr 2021 00:32

This is a correction for the Region 1 NTSC North America DVD release of Father Dowling Mysteries (1987, 1989), adding the total runtime for the episodic promos for the pilot movie, and every Season 1 episode with the exception of "The Mafia Priest Mystery, Part Two", and the CBS TV preview. The episodic promos can only be watched separately from the pilot TV movie and the majority of the Season 1 episodes. The total runtimes for the episodes are slightly different on my multi-region player, from those already stated on the DVD Compare listing page (but I haven't changed those). Have also edited the pilot movie title to show the full title.

DISC ONE
Episodes (with "Play All" option; 237:44):
- Original 1987 Pilot Movie "A Father Dowling Mystery: Fatal Confession" (96:05)
- Play Episodic Promo (0:35)
- 1.01: "The Missing Body Mystery" (93:50)
- Play Episodic Promo (0:40)
- 1.02: "What Do You Call a Call Girl Mystery" (47:49)
- Play Episodic Promo (0:35)

- CBS TV on DVD preview (3:21)

DISC TWO
Episodes (with "Play All" option; 237:39):
- 1.03: "The Man Who Came to Dinner Mystery" (47:35)
- Play Episodic Promo (0:34)
- 1.04: "The Mafia Priest Mystery, Part One" (47:50)
- Play Episodic Promo (0:34)
- 1.05: "The Mafia Priest Mystery, Part Two" (47:54)
- 1.06: "The Face in the Mirror Mystery" (47:53)
- Play Episodic Promo (0:35)
- 1.07: "The Pretty Baby Mystery" (46:27)
- Play Episodic Promo (0:34)

Updated.

The timings come from a bitrate graphing program. I’ve noticed software and hardware players can add a second or a couple seconds to their timing timings (i’m not sure if the playback actually gets minutely stretched, i’ve never bothered to sit in front of something viewing with a stopwatch), and it seems to differ by model or brand.
