Are you sure about this? Because the 193 minute runtime combined is the same as the German DVD, which has the intermission.
The UK BFI on the other hand, which doesn't have the intermission is 189 minutes PAL.

There is no intermission. The first part ends with the guys standing in line. The second part begins with the wheat waveing in the wind. The intermission isn't there (I compared it to my French (La rabbia) and US (Criterion) blus, which have the intermission). The blu-ray release from Trigon Film also lacks the intermission.
