GENERAL NOTES:
This French/West German co-production was shot in both sync-sound English and French (German actor Jürgen Prochnow and American actress Karen Allen had their performances post-dubbed in French). It exists in two versions:
- theatrical version in France, Germany, and export (~83 minutes);
- an extended French director's cut version (~115 minutes).
The film was shot in Super 35mm and shown theatrically in France matted to 2.35:1 while the Studio Canal master of the French version is framed at 1.66:1 and the Multicom master of the English version is framed at 1.78:1. -
