GENERAL NOTES:
There are at least four cuts of the film:
- European version (~90 minutes) with different opening sequence featuring the protagonist receiving a letter from the Hauff estate, Stinel's death in which he hangs himself, and missing a few views of the ghostly plague-carriers;
- U.S. version (~84 minutes) "Terror-Creatures from the Grave" with an alternate more violent opening in which a man is trampled by his horse, Stinel's death in which he impales himself on a sword, and some additional gory views of the victims;
- 77-minute reissue version of the American cut;
- the export version "Cemetery of the Living Dead" with the gorier scenes but lacking any pre-credit sequence (although additional dialogue bits bring it up to the same minute running time as the Italian version). -
